Wessex League
Learn more about the Wessex League & QuadkidsThe League
In the Wessex League, 24 teams hailing from the South and South West regions vie for the top spot. The competition is structured into 4 rounds, each consisting of 4 unique fixtures. Each fixture comprises 6 teams.
Havant AC is currently a non-scoring team, awaiting a vacancy to enter the league in a full capacity. That doesn’t mean we can’t compete with the best young athletes in the area. We can enter a full team in all ages, u 13, u15, u17 and u20 in both male and female categories, entering the 100 m and 200m sprints, 800m and 1500m middle distances and all the field events. Long jump, high jump, javelin, shot etc.
Under 11 Quadkids (school years 4 & 5)
In addition to the competitions for the older age groups, there’s a separate contest for those under 11. Each club is allowed to nominate 20 athletes, evenly split between boys and girls, to participate in four predetermined disciplines: 75m sprint, 600m run, Long Jump, and Howler throw.
Individuals earn points based on their performance in each event. The top four point earners contribute to the team’s total score. The team whose four highest-scoring athletes accumulate the most points wins the event.
